Partner types, commission tiers, and what information to gather.


Eligible partner types

You can refer any business that books or manages travel transfers and would benefit from Welcome Pickups. There are four eligible partner types:

Note: Recurring commission are only applicable to Cluster A & Cluster B hotel and vacation rental partners and are received for the first 3 years of the partnership.


Understanding hotel and vacation rental clusters

Hotels and vacation rentals are classified into Cluster A or B by the Welcome Pickups team after you submit the referral. The cluster affects your commission — Cluster A pays more.

You do not decide the cluster yourself. The team verifies it and lets you know.

 

Hotel Cluster Criteria

Cluster Requirements
Cluster A Must meet ALL of the following:
  • Uses a PMS or channel manager integrated with Welcome Pickups
  • 30 or more rooms

  • City center location

  • In a Welcome Pickups target destination
Cluster B Meets EITHER of the following:
  • City centre + target destination + integrated PMS/channel manager (any room count)

  • 30+ rooms + city centre + target destination (no PMS required)

Vacation Rental Cluster Criteria

Cluster Requirements
Cluster A Must meet ALL of the following:
  • 30 or more apartments
  • City centre location
  • In a Welcome Pickups target destination
Cluster B 15 or more apartments in a Welcome Pickups target destination.

What information to gather

When referring a hotel or vacation rental, collect as much of the following as possible before submitting the referral. This helps the team verify the cluster faster:

  • Number of rooms (hotels) or apartments (vacation rentals)

  • Location — is it city centre?

  • Whether they use a property management system (PMS) or channel manager, and its name.

  • Name, email, and phone number of the right contact at the business

Note: For travel agencies and company accounts, just the business name and a contact person are usually enough to get started.


Who is not eligible?

  • Businesses that are already Welcome Pickups partners.

  • Businesses already in talks with the Welcome Pickups team.

  • Businesses outside of Welcome Pickups operating destinations (for the clustering criteria — but they can still be referred as travel agencies or company accounts).

  • Other ambassadors in the program.
